About the Augusta Christian Educators Co-Op (ACE)
Thank you for your interest in ACE Co-Op. Our goal is to provide supplementary educational opportunities to children, from kindergarten through high school. ACE is a fellowship of Christian families who routinely support and encourage each other in their conviction to homeschool their children.
Our co-op meets on Fridays, except the first Friday of the month, at Wayne Hills Baptist Church from 9:00 AM to 2:45 PM (3:15 for high school classes). This time period allows students from kindergarten through 12th grades to take five classes and a lunch break.
ACE is structured as a true cooperative educational organization in which all parents work together with a Christian spirit for the good of our children. A parent from each family is required to teach and/or assist in classes, or work on the clean-up crew. Several times a year parents will have additional responsibilities such as recess monitor and emergency sub duties. In addition, students will be responsible for lunch clean up several times a year.
Because this is a parent-taught co-op, classes vary year to year. There is a nominal, yearly registration fee per family and most classes have a fee designed to cover the costs a teacher incurs.
The ACE board approves all positions of leadership, including teachers for all classes offered. These leaders are professing Christians who have agreed to lead and manage their respective ACE activities according to conservative Christian principles and to support and reinforce the complete ACE Statement of Faith.
It is our strongest desire to support Christian homeschoolers in all aspects of their development, but the good of the co-op remains the principle responsibility and the primary concern of the board members.
